Chime Camp . . . A Fun Summer Event!

REGISTER YOUR CHILD ONLINE for "Children's Chime Camp", which is an annual tradition at First Church. This 3-day event is an AWESOME and fun opportunity for your 3rd-5th grade child to learn the basics of ringing chimes/bells. If he/she is planning to take part in children's music in the fall, Children's Chime Camp will allow your child to feel very comfortable about being an active part of the First Church Handbell Ministry. This camp is a "sneak peak" for children and parents alike! At Children's Chime Camp, students will learn in stations: rhythm, reading and ringing. The event will be team taught by established music teachers including Shari Sloane, Director of Children's Handbell Ministry at First Church.

The camp will be held Tuesday, June 10, Wednesday, June 11 and Thursday, June 12 from 9:00am-12 noon. A juice bar is provided each day. The last day, June 12, will include a "pizza party show-off" for parents. This will take place at noon. There is a $15 registration fee for this event. Scholarships are available. Children who have rung before MAY attend, but instruction will be fairly basic. These students might enjoy acting as mentors during the ringing section. Parents may wish to volunteer to aid the lead teachers and to coordinate the daily juice bar.
