Children's Chime Camp = Our Youngest Ringers!

Children's Chime Camp is an annual tradition at First Church. This year's camp was held Tuesday, June 10, Wednesday, June 11 and Thursday, June 12 from 9:00am-12 noon in the Family Life Center. All agreed that this year's Chime Camp was a great success! This 3-day event is always a "sneak peak" for children and parents alike. "We're hoping that these students will love ringing so much that they will wish to return in the fall," reports Carla David, Director of Handbell Ministry at First Church.

At Children's Chime Camp, incoming 3rd-5th grade students learned in stations: rhythm, reading and ringing! Each day the time allotted to each station changes. By the third day, much of the morning is spent in ringing chimes! Shari Sloane, Director of Children's Handbells at First Church, exclaims, "This was the first year in Chime Camp History that our students performed four pieces for parents & families at our Thursday Pizza Party Show-off. Congratulations to all!"

Our Fall 2008 Worship Arts Season will begin the week of Monday, September 8. Children's Chimes and Bells will rehearse weekly on Monday afternoons in the Family Life Center from 4:15-5:15pm.
