JANUARY 2009 - It's a NEW YEAR!

WANTED! We need photograhers willing to come to rehearsals throughout our season in order to take action shots of our ringers. These still shots will be used for this handbell website and for publicity for our newsletter and for articles for outside publication. We also need photographers - both still photographers & videographers - for our big concerts (Ring Noel on December 7 and Pops on May 9). WANTED! Do you enjoy decorating? Our POPS concert in May is a dinner theatre style event. At POPS, the Family Life Center is decorated. Tables are decked out in a thematic style. We also need folks who enjoy restaurant work as the POPS event includes beverage making and serving. Call today! POPS 2009 is Saturday, May 9 but we're already working to make this benefit the best POPS of all!

WANTED! We are always looking for new adult ringers for our program. If you have rung before in another church or community choir . . . or if you are an experienced musican interested in learning a new instrument, we may have a place for you NOW.

WANTED!  Are you an adult or high school student who has little or no music background.? Do you feel you can't read music, but you've always wanted to learn? The First Church Handbell Ministry offers "Handbell Rookie Training Camps" to those with little or no background in music. Rookie classes are usually taught at the 9:40am Sunday school hour. We must have 8 registrants for the class to "make." (To date, we have 3. We need YOU!)

WANTED! Are you an adult with a love of children and youth? Even if you have never rung, we can use weekly assistance for the directors of our Kids of the Kingdom Bells/Chimes (3rd-5th grade) and our Revelation Ringers (youth bells). We will train you. You will not direct, but simply assist directors with weekly rehearsals.

These are just a few of the ways you can get involved within the First Church Handbell Ministry. As you can see, not all involve ringing a bell.
