Chime Camp Was Great Fun!

Children's Chime Camp 2007 was held Tuesday, June 12, Wednesday, June 13 and Thursday, June 14 from 9am-12noon. Offered to all incoming 3rd-5th graders, this 3-day event was great fun for all. Seventeen students and five teachers gathered in FIrst Church's Family Life Center to learn about Rhythm, Reading AND Ringing! A Pizza Party Show-Off concluded the week as students demonstrated all that they had learned to parents and friends. The music and pizza were both wonderful!
"This is always such a relaxed and enjoyable event," exclaims Shari Sloane, Director of Children's Handbell Ministry at First Church Round Rock. "I'm always amazed at how quickly the camp seems to just fly by! And this year's group was very sharp! I was extremely impressed with their level of musicianship!"
Children's Chime Camp is always a wonderful opportunity for children to learn the basics of ringing. It is offered annually. Think of it as a "sneak peak" to what is offered in the fall! We hope that all the students who particpated in Chime Camp 2007 will register for the fall! Rehearsals occur weekly on Monday afternoons from 4:15-5:15pm.
