2007 YMC Tour
The singers and actors of the Youth Music Company began their summer in an exciting manner with their tri-state tour to New Mexico, Colorado and Texas.
Early on the morning of May 29 they boarded three 15-passenger vans and, pulling their trailer of suitcases, sound equipment, costumes and instruments, headed westward. On their tour they performed the musical, Where Jesus Is, for First United Methodist Church, Clovis, N.M., St. John’s United Methodist Church in Santa Fe, Community United Methodist Church in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and First United Methodist Church in Brownfield, Texas.
A particularly high point of the trip for the Youth Music Company was singing in the oldest church in the United States while they were in Santa Fe. Also on the list of high points was hiking, shopping and enjoying the mountains of Colorado at Pagosa Springs.
Though the tour was filled with fun and many new experiences, the best times were had in sharing the message of the musical with the different churches and in meeting new people and making new friends.
The tour concluded with YM Co. presenting their musical for their on home church on June 3. It was perhaps the most meaningful presentation of all.
Youth Music Company Starts Up September 4
Youth Music Company will start back up on Tuesday, Sept. 4 when it begins rehearsals on a new musical and begins the preparation for its next tour.YM Co. meets on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 to 8:00 in the choir room. Students 7th through 12th grade are most welcome to join.
