Youth Music Company Goes On Tour!

On June 6, the Youth Music Company of First Church loaded up in a van caravan pulling a trailer full of sets, sound equipment and luggage and headed out on tour. It was a wonderful, exciting time of presenting the musical “Famous One” to churches in Texas and New Mexico.

The first stop was Couts Memorial United Methodist in Weatherford. Pastor David Adkins once served this congregation as pastor and we heard lots of really good stories!!

The second day was spent traveling across West Texas to First United Methodist Church in Lovington, New Mexico. We took pictures of cows, fields of crops, giant wind turbines, and the state line.

The third day we explored Carlsbad Caverns, presented our musical to the residents at Landsun Retirement Home in Carlsbad, and joined the city-wide youth fellowship at a ranch in the foothills. First United Methodist Church of Carlsbad was our host there.

Day four took us back across the state line into Texas and San Angelo. After presenting “Famous One” to Sierra Vista United Methodist Church, we joined their youth in an evening of bowling, fellowship and fun. We had a great time.

Our final day was spent in San Antonio at Fiesta Texas. We baked in the sun, rode rides, saw shows and enjoyed our final day away.

On Sunday morning, June 11, we presented “Famous One” to our own First Church. It was a wonderful and blessed tour, and we all grew to know God better and His plan in our lives.
