Casas Por Cristo Day 7

“I had no way to fathom just how beautiful this experience would be. My heart has been broken completely.”

Finally! An opportunity to get some real sleep! We weren’t required to get up for breakfast until 8:45. We had a team meeting shortly after breakfast to hand out t-shirts and bracelets. We also reviewed a devotional to help us begin processing what we had just experienced, thinking about the homes we had built, the homes we were headed back to, and the eternal home God has prepared for all of us. Looking back over the week it’s hard to believe it was just a week. It seems almost as if we’d managed to squeeze an entire lifetime into 7 days. We all found new and deep friendships among the members of our team, while becoming members of families that we didn’t even know existed before the week began. We saw God at work among ourselves, in Amber and Kelsey, in the church family that hosted us, and most of all among the families and community we had come to help. None of us will ever forget this experience.
