Caring for Parents

PARENTCARE is becoming a group of adults who have found themselves facing the task of assisting aging parents in the latter stages of life. Whether it is in supporting them emotionally during a decline of abilities, or finding the right care for those with health problems; helping them with business matters or encouraging them in changing settings, it is a daunting task.

We seek to make this ministry one of both support and education.

  • We hope to meet regularly for learning from persons with particular backgrounds about some of the problems which seem common to this late-stage care, as well as passing on what each of us has learned from our own cases.
  • We plan to meet for times of fellowship as well, knowing that just being with others with common needs and sharing social time is a means of support and encouragement.

The regular schedule is for a monthly meeting, the second Sunday at 1:00 pm. in Room 127 of Building 5.

We are also considering some sort of "social/fellowship" time, probably at a later hour on a Sunday (say 6:00 p.m.)

P.S. Do YOU have a will? Too few Americans have taken this important step -- and even if you are young and healthy, it is something you should do!
