Y.A.N.K.s (Young Adults No Kids) Class

WHO WE ARE: 

Sunday School classes provide a wonderful opportunity to connect deeply with others in our congregation. FUMC Round Rock offers a variety of classes, and while anyone is welcome to attend any of these classes, many people desire to meet with others in similar life circumstances. With that concept in mind, we started this class in August 2006 for young adults who are in that stage of life where they are out of school but have not yet started families. There will be both single and married adults in this class.

Y.A.N.K.s is a group that initially banded together to give young adult congregants of the 9:45 CrossRoads A.M. worship service a chance to attend Sunday School. So, instead of meeting at the regular 9:30 Sunday school hour, Y.A.N.K.s meets from 11-12:00 each Sunday morning to share in fellowship, exploration, and lively discussion. (Of course, we welcome those who do not attend the CrossRoads A.M. service to join us as well.) Our group exhibits a wide age range and can include early college age folks to early thirties folks and anywhere in between. If you are a young adult with no kids, we would love to have you join us!

WHAT WE ARE STUDYING:

Our class has recently made the decision to embark upon a twenty-one week topical video study called Living the Questions 2.0. On its website, Living the Questions is described as an open-minded alternative to studies that attempt to give participants all the answers and instead strives to create an environment where participants can interact with one another in exploring what's next for Christianity. This is exactly the type of environment that we hope to foster in our class! We are excited to kick off this study September 9th, and we will continue with it through January 2008. 

HOW YOU CAN GET PLUGGED IN:

At this point, Y.A.N.K.s email list is the best way to receive updates on what is happening in our class. Our weekly updates usually contain info about prayer requests, social events, group outreach opportunities and other random stuff. These types of events are planned democratically, based on the interests of our class.
