Y'ALL
YOUNG ADULTS LEADING with LOVE

Want to know what's up with Y'ALL? No, not you all, but US all . . . Y'ALL! The new Sunday School class began in January. The first thing is that while we are mostly couples aged 25 to 40, we do have some group members a little outside the age range and of different marital statuses. And you don't have to already be a member of FUMC to attend, either! All are welcome at Y'ALL! If you are looking for fun and fellowship, Y'ALL may just be the place for you!
We jumped straight into mission work organizing drives for Handbags for Hope and the Humane Society of Williamson County, working at Habitat for Humanity, raising money for Lendhope.org, and the Chron's and Colitis Foundation of America. We are hoping not only to support a charity for our troops and one that helps children in shelters and orphanages, but add our support to five other charities to round out the year at twelve. It's a lofty goal, but this group has the spirit to get it done!
Our next mission is to support our soldiers! For the month of June, we will be collecting donations for care packages for the deployed soldiers of our congregation and to support "Operation Shoebox" which is a national program to supply care packages to our heroes overseas. Find the khaki colored bins in the sanctuary foyer, in the Family Life Center, and in the church office with lists of what is needed and bring donations to help our troops!
We're not all work and no play! We've been out to dinner at the Salt Lick, went bowling at Main Event and went to a Round Rock Express baseball game last weekend. A group of the women from Y'ALL also went to the first two FUMC Girlfriend Gatherings and had a great time enjoying everyone's company, learned how to play Bunco, and, of course, enjoyed the pizza and desserts!
Then there is that actual time between 9:40 and 10:40 each week . . . we are pretty busy, there, too! We started watching and discussing NOOMA videos, a series of short films that explore our world from a perspective of Jesus; read and discussed The 5 Practices of Fruitful Congregations over Lent; and now began "Faith Questions," a study that helps you think about and answer common questions that believers have pondered over the years about the Christian faith. Every couple of weeks we are throwing in a movie discussion course in order to add a little entertainment while discovering the spiritual aspects of three different comedic movies.
