Advent Sermon Series begins November 29

Join us for a special Advent sermon series beginning Sunday, Nov. 29. During the advent season, Rev. David Adkins and Rev. Lee Trigg will preach “The Reel Meaning of Christmas,” looking at the Christmas season through the lens of Hollywood. At the 8:30 and 11 am services, David will look at Christmas through the scenes of traditional movie classics, such as “Miracle on 34th Street,” “It’s a Wonderful Life,” and “The Bishop’s Wife.” At the 9:40 Crossroads service, Lee will focus on the traditional children’s Christmas television specials, such as “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”
All of these seasonal mainstays are holiday traditions, and yet intertwined throughout their secular scenes is the holiest message of Christmas. Join us as we prepare our hearts for the coming of the Christ Child.
