UM Volunteers in Mission Training Event

UMVIM Team Leader Training will be held 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at First UMC Mansfield. The CTC Disaster Response Task Force will present early Response Training at 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 30 at Glen Lake Camp & Retreat Center, Glen Rose. The course teaches the various ways volunteers can respond to a disaster during the earliest days. Once local emergency officials open a community to debris removal, house cleaning and tarping, volunteer teams become a sign of hope that survivors are not alone and the community, both near and far, will be present with them throughout their recovery. Early response training prevents volunteers from making costly and dangerous mistakes that could set a survivor back. Visit the Conference website at www.ctcumc.org for more details.
