We encourage every member to find a place to grow spiritually alongside others. We invite you to read about the following classes to see if there is something you would like to attend.

Disciple Bible Study Courses -- Registration ending soon!

in general are small group indepth studies of particular parts of the Bible. The courses are held from August through May and are seen as ways to develop basic scholarly knowledge of the Bible as well as development for fellowship within the larger First Church community. Companions in Christ

This small group experience is focused on developing and strengthening one's relationship with our Lord Jesus Chirst and also learning to serve God in this world. The study is offered as both a long-term (28 week) study group as well as a series of five short-term (each is five to six weeks long) classes. Registration is underway for the 28-week version of this class. Coached By Jesus

This class, based on the book of the same name, will be led by Trent Turner on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:30. The registration deadline is August 24. Please visit the Coached By Jesus page for a complete description and registration information.

Awaken Your Heart: A Life's Worship Story

This 10-week class will meet Monday evenings from 7:30 -8:30 to explore the concept and principles of worship. The registration deadline is August 28. Please visit the Awaken Your Heart page for a complete description and registration information.

What and How Methodist Believe

A three-week course called What—and How—Do United Methodists Believe? will be offered October 1-15 on Sunday mornings. The class seeks not only to clarify distinctly Wesleyan emphases but also to expose participants to activities through which United Methodists arrive at faith positions. Judd Parker will lead the class in the Conference Room (room 119) of Building 5 at the 9:40 hour. To register, print the registration form return it to the church office. Colors & Crosses, Seasons & Symbols

 

This one-hour class led by Judd Parker will discuss the church year, the common lectionary, color of paraments and stoles, various crosses, and other common symbols used by Christians. We will meet Sunday, November 12, in the Conference Room (room 119) of Building 5 at the 9:40 hour. Complete the registration form found in the “blank registration forms” folder in this pocket and return it to the “completed registration forms” folder.
